I'm looking for new recipes that are definitley worth trying out and will be dishes that our whole family will want again. Meatball recipe with bread crumbs (nikudango)?

Hi, I'm trying to follow this recipe called nikudango which is basically meatballs in sweet and sour soy sauce (kind of). The ingredients for the meatballs are: - 3/4 lb. ground pork - 1/4 lb. onion, chopped - 2 tsp ginger juice - 1 egg, beaten - 2 tsp soy sauce - 2 Tbsp bread crumbs Mix ground pork, onion, ginger, egg, soy sauce, and bread crumbs in a large bowl. Knead well. Are the bread crumbs really necessary? What is it for? And can I use leftover bread at home for them? Another recipe for the meatballs is: - ½ pound of ground beef - ½ pound of ground pork - ½ cup dried bread crumbs - 2 tablespoons of milk - 4 tablespoons of potato starch - salt and pepper In a small bowl, put bread crumbs and milk. Mix together until all bread crumbs are soaked with milk. In a large bowl, put the ground beef, ground pork, salt and pepper to taste. Knead the mixture together until the meat is well combined. Which recipe is better? Thanks!!

Seasonings for fried pork chops?

I have a recipe for pan-fried pork chops, and they were okay; however, the last time I tried it, it turned out rather bland. The only seasonings on the pork underneath the bread crumbs (which were mixed with grated parmesan) were salt and pepper. Is there any other seasoning that would be appropriate for such a recipe?

How do I make tender boni-in pork chops?

I don't have luck with bone-in pork chops. I soaked the chops in buttermilk for about 30 mins. Then sauted the breaded chops for about 5 min each side. I baked them at 325 for 10 minutes with some water in the pan, then lowered the temp to 300 for another 15 minutes. The core temp is above 160 degrees. It tastes good but is tough. Other recipes say to bake for an hour and a half. Is that how it gets tender by still cooking it for another 40 mins at 300 degrees? Using an oven, how does one do it? I don't think it would cook all the way through in 10 mins. (5 each side). What about cooking an additional hour in the oven? Almost all the recipes have long cooking times (40 mins. to 2.5 hours). Thjanks. Answers at opp. ends of the spectrum, which prob. both work. Will try both.

Cooking time for tender bone-in pork chops.?

I make excellent fillet pork chops, but bone-in chops end up on the tough side. I have experimented some with cooking time and found that short pan frying doesn't cook through near the bone, especially. Last night I prepared bone-in chops this way and aside from the loin portion ended up tough: I soaked the chops in buttermilk for about 30 mins. Then sauted the breaded chops for about 5 min each side. I baked them at 325 for 10 minutes with some water in the pan, then lowered the temp to 300 for another 15 minutes. The core temp was sig. above160 degrees. It tasted great but was tough. Most recipes say to cook in oven for 30 mins to 2.5 hours. Is the answer simply cooking longer in the oven, maybe at a lower temp? NOT interested in crock pot options or recipes, just oven cooking methods. Thanks Thanks to the ones who stuck to the info that I wanted. Seems like one should cook quickly or very slowly. I will try both.
