Boneless Pork Chop Recipes Question And Answer

Can I cook this in the slow cooker on high for 3-4 hours instead of low 7-8?

Here is the recipe. I would like to make it for dinner tonight but it's already almost 5. We won't be eating until 8 or so tonight but I was wondering if I could throw this in on high instead of cooking it on low. INGREDIENTS: * 4 to 6 pork chops, bone-in or boneless * flour * salt and pepper * 1/4 cup oil * 1 large onion, sliced * 2 cubes or equivalent chicken boullion granules or base * 2 cups hot water * 8 oz. sour cream (fat free is okay) PREPARATION: Season pork chops to taste and dredge in flour. Lightly brown in oil and place in slow cooker; top with onion slices. Dissolve or soften boullion in hot water and pour over chops. Cook on low 7-8 hours. After the pork chops have cooked, stir 2 tablespoons flour into the sour cream; stir into cooking juices. (It is not necessary for this to be totally blended into boullion, but don't just dump it on top either.) Turn slow cooker to high for 15-30 minutes or until liquid is slightly thickened. ...or should I go ahead and make it on the stove? Can I make the sauce on the stove? Thought so. Thanks.

I don't see why not. I have a slow cooker recipe book and it gives you the option to do everything on either low or high.
Yes - throw it in the crock pot and cook it on high for 3-4 hours. You will be just fine.
don't see why not? sure throw it in a crock pot and leave it in there for 3-4 hours.
yes just layer your onions on bottom of pot, then pork chops, then the rest, like you suggested.
my idea would be to partially fry the chops, put them in a casserole dish cover with cream of chicken or celery soup, cover them w/foil, add a veg. and rolls. It sounds like a great recipe if you had started sooner w/ the crock pot (I luv mine) I also love my pressure cooker...those chops would be done in 20mins. Good Luck!
